LICA has been participating and sponsoring the Ministry of Labor in joining the ASEAN Skill competition on IT,  in Brunei on September, 2006 by organizing local completion and selection and sending of participants from Laos. As well as the 2008 event in Kualar Lumpur 

LICA with the cooperation of LNCCI has assist members in sending their staff for ICT training abroad, specifically in India, South Korea and Japan 

LICA has been admitted as a member to ASOCIO (Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organisation) at the General Assembly in Auckland, New Zealand on December 2005. 

LICA has been recently admitted as a member to WITSA (World Information Technology and Service Alliance) at the recent General Assembly in Texas, USA on May 2006. 

Mr. Thanongsinh KALAGNA, President  of LICA  said that “Being the 20th member of such prestigious world class ICT association such ASOCIO, is a sure way of learning the fast and correct way to achieve  the goal of gap reduction for the development of ICT in Laos comparing with the other countries of the region.

• By Being a Member of ASOCIO and WITSA , LICA has participate in multiple key ICT events  in Asia and Oceania.


• LICA with the authorization and support from the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, under the Ministry of Commerce, is organizing its first ICT Expo, finally scheduled to this 12-17 January 2010.
  The key objectives of this activity are:
  – Promote the service and trade on ICT within Laos and the region. –Enhance knowledge and skills related to ICT, including updates on products and solutions for general public. –Promote business matching for local and international businesses so that business network can be expanded and technical know-how can be transferred. –Promote LICA and recruit new members.


• LICA with the support from JICA is implementing a “Research and analysis of Lao IT service market” project with forecast to be finalized in March 2010.


• LICA is also planning to work closely with ASOCIO for the ambassador program to get experience IT pioneers and leaders to provide advice on key ICT strategy and Plan.


• LICA with ASOCIO (especially ATCI)  have organised a Multilateral Study Visit to Laos in June 2007


• LICA with ASOCIO (especially ATCI)  have organised and host the ASOCIO Plenary Meeting in Vientiane and Luang-Prabang, Laos bewtween 18-21June 2009.
